At the Annual General Meeting of Beaver Sailing Club on 25th November 2017 it was voted unanimously that Terry and Joan Postlethwaite be elected as honorary members.
Terry first joined the Club in the early 60’s and was therefore one of the original wooden boat sailors. However, his reputation still seems to stand more in the Dart Class so he obviously moved on to modern materials quickly. Records from Sprint 15 Association show impressive wins in 1992, 1996 and 1997 in the Pewter Hip Flask Heavyweight helm class. There’s also another trophy win in 1992, the Eric Worby 50 Plus. Looks like it was a good year for Terry. He has suffered ill health in recent years but continues to attend the Club regularly to share time with our small community. He is in good spirits and is threatening to make a comeback to racing in 2018. He has said that he’ll take it easy on other members by giving a thirty second head start off the start line.
Joan also played a part in the club and supported clubhouse management for several years.
Beaver Sailing Club is proud to have them as honorary members.
